CAPER’s Transition from Twitter to LinkedIn
The Canadian Post-M.D. Education Registry (CAPER) is pleased to announce a strategic shift in our social media presence. Following the lead of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC), we have decided to move away from X/Twitter.

We encourage all our stakeholders to follow us on LinkedIn to stay informed and engaged with CAPER's initiatives.
CAPER is pleased to share important updates to our 2023–2024 reporting
The Canadian Post-M.D. Education Registry (CAPER) is pleased to announce significant updates to the 2023–2024 Provincial and Faculty Reports, National IMG Database Report, and Annual Census. With the successful acquisition of the 2023 Practice Location Data made possible through collaboration with the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) we have enhanced the accuracy and completeness of the following key reports:
-
The Provincial and Faculty Reports now include Section D: Location of Practice 2 Years Post Exit, offering insights into where medical graduates are practicing two years after completing their training.
-
The CAPER Annual Census includes Section E: Practice Location Data, providing a broader view of workforce distribution and trends.
-
The 2024 National IMG Database Report includes Section C: IMGs in Practice, providing valuable insights into where international medical graduates are practicing 2, 5, and 10 years after completing Canadian postgraduate training.
These updates deepen our understanding of post-training practice patterns and support more informed workforce planning.
We are committed to delivering accurate, timely data and have taken steps to strengthen our data collection and reporting processes to prevent future gaps.
We encourage all stakeholders to explore the revised reports and census, and to make full use of the newly added practice location data. Your feedback is always welcome as we continue to enhance our reporting efforts.
